SOI Motorhome Club's September E-Newsletter, September 15, 2014
To all of our SOI Friends, November, 7 2016
We have one bus full for the Rose Parade this year and will be trying to fill up at least 2 buses next year. If you haven’t already, please go to our Facebook Page (SOI RV Club) and send us a like.
We will be having our Annual SOI Chapter Business meeting at 9 AM on January 1st. Everyone is welcome to come by the big tent and participate. We will be having elections for the key positions as follows:
Ed Waldheim – President
Paul Mitchell – Vice President
Larry Stark – Secretary
Lisa Mitchell – Treasurer & National Director
Sherry Targum – Alternate National Director
All of the above have agreed to serve for an additional 2 years.
We will also need to elect 3 members to the Nominating Committee to select candidates for the positions above, to be voted on at the 2018 Annual Business Meeting.
Anyone can also be nominated from the floor during the business meeting.
We will be voting on deferring our dues again for next year.
Rocky Point, Mexico
Our next event is going to be our annual trek down to Rocky Point from February 19th to the 25th. We still have plenty of room for anyone that would like to spend some time right on the Gulf of Mexico. I do mean right on because we have reserved the Water Front sites with 50 Amp service, water and sewer. You will be able to pull your RV straight in toward the water so all you see out of the windshield is the beach and water. Trailers and 5th Wheels can back in and have the same great view out their windows.
We have a great program planned and all at almost half of what the commercial companies charge. We will rally in Gila Bend, AZ at the KOA and then cross the border the next morning for the short drive to Rocky Point. We will be escorted from the Mexican border to our campground. Our first night we will go to dinner at El Capitan with great views over the Gulf of Mexico and the city from one of the highest points in the area. We will visit the downtown area, breakfast at Ramon’s, lunch at Point Restaurant, Sunset Cruise on the Gulf and have our farewell dinner at Blu Mare before we head back across the border. All this for $745.00 and SOI members get an additional $50 off so only $695.00. You can’t beat 5 days parked on the beach in February. You can sign up on our web site or give me a call.
The other reason to go is the great paint and repair work they are able to do. Last year I had my refrigerator cover painted (4 colors with design) for $100 and another rig was repainted around the top where some rigs tend to peel for a very reasonable rate. If you have any minor dents, dings or paint issues you won’t find a more reasonable place to have it repaired. Highly recommended.
